The purpose of this blog is to help us – help each other, to turn towards Him, to be filled with His light, and to share it with the rest of the world. In my humble opinion, it is better than standing on a street corner and yelling at people through a bullhorn .
The comment section is located at the bottom of each of my stories. It is meant to be a place to comment on my stories, share your stories as they relate to my stories, and for you to comment on each other’s stories. I welcome your thoughts and opinions and encourage you to share when and where appropriate.
NOTE: If your anonymity is important to you, feel free to use an alias. Although emails are only visual to me, you can use a fake email address too.
I love good discourse but mean discourse is not tolerated.
House Rules:
1. Make sure you understand what the stories are about before you comment and please try to stay on topic.
2. They say you are not supposed to talk about religion and politics. You are welcome to speak about both as long as you keep it civil and it relates to the story. No religious or partisan bickering. Last I searched, there are over 30,000 religious denominations in the world. DO NOT PUSH YOUR RELIGION HERE.
3. Do not use the comment section to dump links. A link to a source when needed, or when asked for by another commenter, is encouraged. Most links will be removed especially if they are meant to be a clickbait link with the comment as well.
4. Conversations are welcome until they take up more than 5% of the comment section or until they become argumentative, then they don’t get posted.
5. Comments that are in bad faith, badger other commenters, or attack other commenters ad hominem will not make the cut. If you have an opinion, please target the comment, not the person. Keep in mind, opinions are like armpits, everyone has a couple.
7. There is a zero tolerance to propaganda, promotions or trolling of any type.
8. No insulting comments towards anyone!
9. No name-calling of officials, politicians, cities, and states. Use the correct names. Stay away from descriptors, nicknames, and disparaging remarks. Comparisons of current figures to Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, etc. are automatically deleted.
10. Please feel free to point out my typos or your own for clarification but do not do so for other commenters.
11. Other triggers for blocking: Religion, race, sex, bigotry, generation-bashing; calling for, or threatening, violence against anyone.
Screen names, logins, and your privacy – Please use a screen name that is somewhat unique. Please stay away from more common names like Bob as it can get very confusing when a few Bob’s start to comment. To protect your privacy, I recommend using an alias to log in, instead of your real name. Use an anonymous email that is used exclusively for comments, etc. but is NOT for personal use. A fake email to log in works just fine but it will prevent me from reaching out if I have a specific question for you.
Please be patient if your comment ends up in moderation – A set of tripwires occasionally sends perfectly good comments into moderation where they may languish until I get to them. The spam filter, which I don’t control, also sends some perfectly good comments into moderation. Among other things, it looks at how the comment is routed through the internet. If the comment is routed through an internet server that has been flagged for issuing spam or malicious content, your comment may routinely end up in moderation. My apologies. And please be patient.
